Green Life aims to demonstrate that it is possible to build more sustainable cities, and to “show off” urban areas that have been capable of providing themselves with a vision of the future, adopting bold strategies, and putting in place concrete actions.
Visitors will be able to see areas and buildings that have developed more creatively than elsewhere and in a more sustainable way than in the past.
Showing examples of what has been done in the world to create urban ecosystems that are sustainable for the planet is a way of demonstrating what can be already be done to make it accessible on a wider scale.
The exhibition is aimed at a wide audience of potential “drivers of change” – young people who want to feel like citizens of the world (the “Erasmus generation”), professionals, planners, designers and entrepreneurs with a vision of the future.
An exhibition which also talks to ordinary people wishing to find a way to make their lifestyles environmentally sustainable.
An exhibition that aims to stimulate today’s urban planners and designers, manufacturers of materials and innovative systems, those responsible for procurement in the private and public sphere, political decision-makers, and institutions providing training in knowhow.

Produced in cooperation with The Roy Lichtenstein Foundation and produced by the Triennale di Milano and AlphaOmega Art, in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan, the exhibition features over one hundred works, mostly paintings in large format, as well as numerous drawings, collages and sculptures from renowned international private and public collections, including the Ludwig Museum in Cologne, the Ludwig Forum in Aachen, the Louisiana Museum in Copenhagen, the Whitney Museum and the Gugghenheim Museum in New York, the Modern Art Museum in Vienna, the Broad Art Foundation in Los Angeles.

The exhibition includes works from the Fifties, little known and many of them on display for the first time, in which the artist revisited and reinterpreted medieval iconography paintings by American artists, to the Nineties inspired by Cubism, Expressionism, Futurism, Modernism of the ’30s, minimalist abstraction, Action Painting, and genres of landscape and still life.

A refined and delicious swing is what the International Jazz Trio propose, a formation that brings together three wonderful musicians who live and work in New York, well known to the public in the Ascona festival: the pianist Rossano Sportiello Neapolitan origin. The bass player, Australian singer and songwriter, the beautiful Nicki Parrott and the great drummer Eddie Metz Jr. An evening not to be missed!

A tribute to Dinah Washington — in case you couldn’t get that from the title — and a jazzy one too! China Moses definitely sings with the bluesy tones of Washington’s early years, but the backings are warmly jazzy — done by pianist Raphael Lemonnier and his sextet, and augmented with horns on most of the numbers — with instrumentation stretching out far past the usual shorter readings of the songs that Dinah might have done. Not all tunes are ones you’d recognize as being Washington numbers, but China’s presentation of the material definitely evokes strong memories of The Queen — although with a slightly more modern quality too — no surprise, given that China’s the daughter of Dee Dee Bridgewater, and you can hear just a touch of that heritage in her music.

Frank O. Gehry since 1997 exhibition now on view at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan. Focus is on work created after completion of the Guggenheim in Bilbao.

Given the confused layout of the recent exhibition focusing on the Lewis House (the project that allowed Gehry ample time and resource to explore the ideas that have become his hallmark), one can only hope that his one is a little better. That said, the material appears engaging and Gerhy’s efforts are always breathtaking.

The November Jazz Cat Club concert will be a tribute to Benny Goodman, featuring clarinet player Jürg Morgentahler’s J.M. Rhythm Four, accompanied by swing masters Bucky Pizzarelli on guitar and Peter Appleyard on vibraphone—both renowned musicians whose 80+ years of age contribute to their rich artistic experience, in addition to their established technical mastery. Both musicians played on several occasions with formations directed by Goodman.
